Types of nosebleeds
The site of the bleed represents nosebleeds. There are two main types of nasal bleeding; however, one can cause more serious issues than the other.
- An anterior nosebleed – This starts in the front of the nose on the lower part of the wall that detaches the two sides of the nose (called the septum).
- A posterior nosebleed – This takes place deep inside the nose; it can cause bleeding in larger blood vessels in the back part of the nose near the pharynx.
