One of the common problems in everybody’s life is neck pain. Irrespective of a person’s age, it could happen to anyone. Neck pains can be relieved in few days by themselves, but the doctor’s consultation is required if pain persist for long. Carelessness can lead to severe neck problems.

Causes

Injury – Neck injury usually occurs due to falling, car accidents or sports activities.

Muscle tension and strain – The body has a posture that should be maintained for the painless working of the body. The poor postures,  wrong neck exercises, sleeping with your neck in the wrong position, usually seen when people sleep during travelling in cars.

Heart attack and other heart attack symptoms like nausea, vomiting, sweating, breathing problem, and neck pain are also significant symptoms.

Treatment

After diagnosing how serious is the neck problem in a patient, the doctor undergoes a physical exam and medical history of the patient. There are also specific tests that doctors conduct, such as MRI scans, X-rays, CT scans, lumbar puncture, and according to the reports, the proper treatment is taken into action.

Treatments like ice and heat therapy, neck collar, pain medications, exercise, stretching and physiotherapy and in case of infection, medicines are recommended. 

Neck pains may be a common complaint in every house, but it should not be taken casually when is it continuous as that can lead to other significant problems.
